Tae-gyu (Tag) Nam did his undergraduate and M. S. work at the College of Pharmacy, Seoul National University. Then he worked in LG Life Sciences where he was involved in the development of Factive, the first Korean-made drug approved by US FDA. He has started his Ph.D. study at department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering in University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2000. He continued his Ph.D. work at the department of Chemistry at Vanderbilt University with professor Ned A. Porter on the bioorganic chemistry of antioxidants.
Next, he joined Peter G. Schultz group in The Scripps Research Institute for postdoctoral studies where he carried out a couple of functional genomics projects by using High Throughput Screening (HTS) technology in the collaboration with scientists from Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF). In 2011, after two year works on HTS-based drug discovery project at Gyeonggi Bio-Center (GGBC), he joined the faculty of Hanyang University where he is currently an assistant professor of Pharmacy.
